The Central Applications Office (CAO) has released its Application Calendar and Deadlines for 2020/2021 academic sessions, newly admitted and returning students are to take note

The management of the Central Applications Office (CAO) has opened the admission portal for aspirants that are interested in running a program at any institution both at the diploma, undergraduate and the postgraduate level. Specific dates and deadlines have been set for admission registration as well as the closure of the admission portal. It is advisable to apply early because of the limited admission slots available at CAO as late entry would not be permitted.

Therefore, it is expected for the applicants to meet any University or college of their choice minimum admission requirements and admission point score before proceeding with the application. See below, the application dates and deadlines for the 2020/2021 academic year.

CAO APPLICATION CALENDAR AND DEADLINES FOR 2020/2021 ACADEMIC SESSIONS

The academic calendar for the 2020/2021 academic session as approved by the senate of the Central Applications Office (CAO).

March 2020
  • 01         Applications for 2021 first semester entry open and on-time administration fee of R250.00 is payable
  • 20         End of first school term
  • 21         Human Rights Day
  • 31         Last day for applicants to extend their 2020 first semester applications to 2020 second semester and/or 2021 1st semester Start of second school term
April 2020
  • 10         Good Friday
  • 13         Family Day
  • 27         Freedom Day
  • 30         DUT: 2020 second semester programmes close
May 2020
  • 01         Worker’s Day
  • 31         Last day for on-time administration fee of R250.00 for 2020 second semester applications
  • MUT: 2020 second semester programmes close
June 2020
  • 01         Late administration fee of R470.00 for 2020 second semester application now applies
  • 12         End of second school term
  • 16         Youth Day
  • 30         UKZN: B Medicine & B Surgery closes
